I have been having a great time with my dear Firsties. We have learned so much and they are a great bunch of kids. I'll post some pictures next time. Most recently we celebrated our HUNDREDTH day of school! We had a great time counting to 100, meeting Zero the Hero, making hundred year old portraits, and eating 100th day snack.
We're looking forward to a super sweet Valentine's Day party, field trip, and Dr. Seuss's belated birthday soon. What is Dr. Seuss's belated birthday, you say? Well its just the best idea you've ever heard! We have planned a field trip to the Discovery Center on March 2nd, which I know you know is Dr. Seuss's birthday. So, the following Monday, we will be having a belated birthday party for him AND all of our students! I work at a low income school and most kids don't bring in cupcakes or anything for their birthdays. And its simply too much for me to do on my own. So this year we will celebrate EVERYONE'S birthday on the same day! I'm talking party hats (cat in the hat of course), streamers, cupcake decorating, lots of Seuss reading, and birthday pencils for all! Hooray for belated birthdays!
Lastly, I have a new product on TpT I wanted to share with you! Its a sight word game with a Wizard of Oz theme called "Off To Be a Word Wizard!"
Does the game board remind you of your favorite childhood game? You draw a card, read the word, and move to the next same colored square. It has 50 first grade sight words! And it is full of super cute Wizard of Oz clip art :) Just click on the game board to check it out!
Have a great week!
